Sicilia Canta, in partnership with Cinema Insieme, presented Mark Spano’s feature-length documentary film, “Sicily: Land of Love and Strife,” during Festitalia 2017 held in Hamilton, Ontario. With a large population of Sicilian immigrants in Hamilton, the annual festival celebrates the rich culture and traditions of that often-maligned Italian region and connects Sicilian immigrants and descendants with the broader Canadian community.

Praising Mark’s production as “a moving story about a land that you have only heard about but have no idea how remarkable a place it is,” Sicilian Canta and Cinema Insieme announced that they will host the film’s Canadian premiere during Italian Heritage Month in June 2018.
