“The Presence of the Dead,” a short story by Mark Spano, has been published in A Feast of Narrative 2: An Anthology of Short Stories by Italian American Writers, now available on Amazon for $18 (paperback).

Second in a series, this anthology “contains a very interesting amalgam of different stories and authors,” says editor Tiziano Thomas Dossens.
“What is common, other than their belonging to the same ethnic group, is the validity of their content and the message they send to the readers. Some stories are funny commentaries on social gatherings of some kind, wakes included, while others address different topics with a more somber tone, such as war events, the constant search for our roots, the changing of neighborhoods, the Covid19 crisis, and so on.”
Regardless of topic, the stories in the book “prove that passion for writing is another element [the writers] have in common,” Dossens believes.
Mark is one of 26 Italian American writers whose work is featured in this edition.
A Feast of Narrative 2 was officially released September 19. Dominic Campanile provided the cover design and layout.
